Family Friendly Activities in Boynton Beach

Get Out and About With Your Family in Boynton Beach!

Your kids enjoy a variety of science, arts, and nature activities at daycare and in preschool each day. And, like many of our families, we too are part of the Boynton Beach community. Both eastern and western Boynton Beach offer plenty of enriching activities your family would enjoy on the weekends. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite, family-friendly activities in Boynton Beach to ensure that, on the weekends, your kids stay engaged and entertained, and you can participate in some of the fun of watching them learn and develop new interests.

The School House Children’s Museum and Learning Center is one of Summit’s favorite destinations for both toddlers and preschool kids due to its interactive exhibits that bring kids closer to arts, music, and the sciences. In fact as part of our Pre-K program and summer camps, we have visited this fun filled museum on field trips.  Free programs and special classes and workshops on two floors of space mean that there is something for every kid to engage in at this fun and educational center.  They even do birthday parties!

The Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands is a newer nature center that showcases the natural beauty of Boynton Beach by providing access to, and educational programs about, constructed wetland. Take your kids on a walk along the elevated boardwalk and learn about this unique wetland habitat.

Little wildlife aficionados will love a trip to Boynton Beach’s Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. This northern Everglades refuge features sawgrass ridges, cattail communities and tree islands, and a 400-acre cypress swamp. Plus, birds, mammals, amphibians, and reptiles, as well as endangered species, inhabit this refuge, allowing kids to observe wildlife up close. Ask your little ones to point out each animal and plant they see, and write down their discoveries in a journal that they can take home with them.

Bedner’s Farm is another popular field trip destination for Summit’s preschool and camps programs.  Bedner’s offers local produce grown using sustainable agricultural practices, and is a great way for kids to learn where their food comes from, and how a farm can operate in a local, sustainable way. The kids love to pick their own peppers, pumpkins and tomatoes and especially love the tractor ride. Head to Bedner’s to learn about their practices, and leave with a bag full of fruits and veggies that you and your kids can enjoy together!

Do you have a variety of different ages to cater to on the weekends? Boynton Beach’s Carolyn Sims Center might be the perfect destination for your family. This center offers a playground, an open play field, basketball courts, and a game room. Ideal for rainy days and a family with big as well as little kids, head here with your family to burn off a little energy before bedtime!

What is your favorite family-friendly Boynton Beach activity? Tell your fellow daycare families so that they can join in the fun!
