COVID-19 Update

Dear Summit Family,

We are writing you today to keep you informed on all updates and our status here at Summit Kids Academy. Our Summit family along with your family are living in uncertain times and we are navigating through as best as we can. Let me take a moment just to wish everyone positive feelings and remember that we will get through this.

Summit Kids Academy remains open and we intend to remain open for our families! Earlier this week, the governor declared childcare as an essential service and of course he is correct. In order for us to stay open, we are following all CDC and health department guidelines.

There are no known cases of COVID-19 within the Summit Kids Academy community. Should any staff member, child in our program, or family member have a confirmed case of COVID-19, it is imperative that you let us know so that we can take the appropriate actions.

Our staff has been double and tripling their cleaning tasks and we thank you for cooperating with the strict hand washing and sick policies.

Going forward we are going to implement two more measures to ensure everyone’s safety.

  1. Group sizes will be kept to 10 and under whenever possible.  This includes in the outdoor classroom.
  2. We will be doing drop off and pick up from the lobby only.  This means parents will enter the lobby sign in their child(ren) and members of our staff will bring the children to their classrooms. At pick up the reverse will take place; parents will enter the lobby to sign out their child(ren) and a staff member will bring them from their class to the lobby. In some cases we may even be able to do curb side pick-up and drop off. In those instances, your child will be signed in or out by the administration.  We realize this is a new procedure and it may add extra couple of minutes to drop off and pick up time, however, by limiting the number of people entering the classrooms, we hope to further prevent the spread of any possible infection.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation and support in order for the above changes to be implemented.

We know some of you are experiencing your own pain with layoffs and financial constraints and want to offer you some options. If your child is currently enrolled but will not be attending in the month of April due to the coronavirus outbreak, we are offering to take 50% off your tuition for the month of April. We hope this reduction will allow your family to have additional funds to deal with what is going on in your lives while at the same time maintaining your spot and help us pay the salaries of the wonderful people who give so much of themselves every day. This reduced tuition option will be available starting March 30th.  Please speak to Ms. Fran if you would like to take this option.

Also starting next week for all children enrolled, we will begin some virtual learning for those children who are not in attendance.  You will be able to join in for circle time, story time and a weekly craft through Zoom.  Your child will be able see and speak with their teachers and friends and stay connected.  We will send you all the details on how to use Zoom along with a schedule and more info later this week

Please do let us know if you have any questions about the new procedures or anything else related to the coronavirus or any other issue involving your children.

Please stay safe.
